all I need is a path under my feet

I decided to spend the day here again! Because nothing could possibly go wrong with this decision!

… somewhat to my surprise, nothing went wrong. This is as close as Loiosh got to going up That Tree again.

Loiosh, an orange tabby wearing a green harness, sniffs at the base of the pinyon.

He went up a bunch of others, though. It was wooshy windy & that often gets him VERY EXCITED, & that day it got him VERY EXCITED in that DASH AROUND & CLIMB LOTS OF TREES kind of way. I didn’t get any pictures of that, cos I was laughing too hard.

Tom, on the other hand, reacted to the wooshy woosh in this manner:

Major Tom, a big grey tabby, is laying comfortably inside the van, looking at the camera with a very 'wtf human' expression.

& that’s pretty much where he stayed.

After I was done working on Stuff, I invited Loiosh to go for a walk with me. All I need is a path under my feet …

A path -- really, two rutted tire tracks -- stretches off into the distance, disappearing into the woods.

… & my boy by my side.

Loiosh is standing on the path, looking off to the right, tail low, ears at skeptical angles.

Not that he stayed there. In fact he didn’t follow me down the path at all. I found him wandering around off to the right somewhere.

Loiosh is standing next to an old weathered stump, almost leaning on it.

He even failed at Dramatical Posing.

He's standing on a fallen log, but instead of a Dramatical Pose he's just sort of looking around.

I hadda deploy treats to get him to actually walk back to the van.

He's standing on a rock, head down, nomming treats. Very Dramatical.

Guess he was wiped out from climbing all those trees.
