cats: long drive to the park edition

[A view across a field of short brown grass. Houses line the horizon, and behind them rises Mount Blanca, topped with snow.]

The boys had a vet visit … which, since we’re going to be moving there soon, was in Alamosa. But since we aren’t in Alamosa yet, it was a bit of a haul.

I left a bunch of extra time for the drive, though, so we had time to wander around the park a bit first.

Loiosh, of course, got a case of the rips & went up a tree, because have you met him.

[Loiosh, an orange tabby wearing a green harness and a blue bow tie, stands partway up a tree with streaky bark, one paw braced on the trunk in front of him. He’s looking off to the right, ears and whiskers perked.]

There was Dramatical Posing!

[Loiosh from the other side of the tree he’s standing in, one hindleg braced against the trunk behind and beneath him. He’s gazing dramatically off to the right.]

Mlem.

[He’s in the same spot, but he’s looking up more, now; his head is in profile and he’s sticking his tongue out. Perhaps there’s a bird.]

In the meantime? Tom just followed along behind us, grumbling about the lack of cover. He’s a forest cat at heart.

[Major Tom, a big grey tabby, stomps his way through a big open field, towards the camera. One forepaw is raised mid step and his ears are stuck out to the sides.]

Stomp stomp stomp stomp stomp.
